Savannah’s Multicultural Mosaic
This program focuses on the variety of cultures and ethnicities that converged to make Savannah the multicultural society that it is today. A brief tour of Massie School with emphasis on Peter Massie’s Scottish heritage is followed by a walking tour which highlights cultures present in early Savannah.

Digging History
The land on which today’s Georgians live has been inhabited by people for over 19,000 years, yet settlers arrived from Europe and Africa only a little more than 250 years ago. Who were the people who preceded us? This program allows students to examine their local environment and utilize information processing skills to compare and contrast other cultures. Students will participate in an archaeology simulation examining cultural artifacts.

A River Runs Through It
This tour focuses on the Savannah River’s role in the community, from Oglethorpe’s initial inspection of the river and its forty-foot bluff, to modern shipping and commerce that take place there today, and all of the history in between.
