The streets of Savannah’s Landmark Historic District become a geographic laboratory as students use their skills to navigate through Savannah’s wards. Students apply skills as they explore Savannah’s history and the five themes of geography.

Savannah’s Multicultural Mosaic
This program focuses on the variety of cultures and ethnicities that converged to make Savannah the multicultural society that it is today. A brief tour of Massie School with emphasis on Peter Massie’s Scottish heritage is followed by a walking tour which highlights cultures present in early Savannah.

A River Runs Through It
This tour focuses on the Savannah River’s role in the community, from Oglethorpe’s initial inspection of the river and its forty-foot bluff, to modern shipping and commerce that take place there today, and all of the history in between.
