VFTStandards

The purpose of this site is to allow the visitor to travel through the Civil War focusing on some of the major battles which occurred. As an educational tool this site is aligned with the following teaching standards:

Georgia Performance Standards:

8th Grade-SS8H6 The student will analyze the impact of the Civil War andReconstruction 11th Grade-SSUSH9 The student will identify key events, issues, and individuals  relating to the causes, course, and consequences of the Civil War National History Standards*: Era 5 Standard 2A -The student understands how the resources of the Union and Confederacy affected the course of the war. Standard 2B -The student understands the social experience of the war on the battlefield and homefront.

 

 

 

 

National Educational Technology Standards:
          NETS 2.3- Students develop positive attitudes toward technology uses that support lifelong learning, collaboration, personal pursuits, and productivity.
          NETS 3.1- Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity
          and promote technology.
          NETS 1.2- Students are proficient in the use of technology.
          NETS 5.1- Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information
          from a variety of sources.

In addition this VFT should align with all other state history standards.
