Rental of Massie's Facilities

Massie Heritage Center is the perfect setting for an elegant reception or party.  Its rooms are spacious and comfortable. Massie's gardens are maintained by the Garden Club of Savannah and are simply stunning!

Located on Calhoun Square, Massie is an affordable venue in Savannah's Historic District. 

Weekend facility rental rates are as follows:

  • Entire facility (exhibits, reception/meeting area, and gardens) - $500 / 3 hours
  • Reception/meeting area only - $400 / two hours
  • Gardens only - $300 / two hours

Additional options:

  • Use of kitchen:  $75.00
  • Use of indoor sound system - $35.00
  • On-site day-of event coordinator:  $200.00 / three hours 
  • Referral information to Massie's event coordinator for additional planning services available upon request.

While the facility can host up to 300 guests for a standing reception, the gardens accommodate a maximum of 75 seated guests and the large event room can comfortably set up to 50.

As a board of education property, alcoholic beverages are not permitted.  However, Massie is located on beautiful Calhoun Square which has been utilized for beverage tents at other events hosted at Massie.  Our staff would be happy to assist you in the process of obtaining a permit to rent the square from the City of Savannah.

  • A 50% security deposit is required at the time of reservation. 
  • The balance for the rental is due one week prior to the scheduled event. 
  • Cancellation policy: If cancelled more than 10 days before the scheduled event, 40% of the deposit will be refunded. If cancelled within 10 days of the scheduled event, the deposit will not be refunded.
  • Special instructions for the placement of chairs, tables, and A/V equipment must be provided one week in advance of the scheduled event.
  • All materials and utensils must be removed from the site at the completion of the rental period.
  • Staff is generally not available for additional and unplanned set-up, take-down, and carrying items to be used during an event.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the property due to Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education regulations.
